Brewster Office of Emergency Management Offers Hurricane Preparedness Tips

 
 
As we move closer to Hurricane season the Brewster Office of Emergency Management in partnership with FEMA is providing the following information regarding the development of a family plan and “Hurricane Go Kit” that will insure you are capable of surviving on your own for the first 72 hours after a major storm event.  It is important to remember that proper preparation is a critical component of protecting your family against the impacts of any major storm event or natural disaster. First responders throughout the region may be overwhelmed with emergency incidents during these storms and response to your calls for assistance may be delayed. Therefore it is imperative that you develop a plan and “Go Kit” that will enable you and your family to survive for the first 72 hours post-storm event.
