Coastal storm will bring snow late tonight into Saturday Mini UPDATE 230pm 03-01-19

Guidance in decent agreement on surface low passing outside of the benchmark position for northeast storms (40N 70W). A colder solution has become more clear since this morning. As we discussed in our previous full update this morning, NWS has finally gotten into the game and has changed their advisories. The winter weather advisory area that they had has been replaced by a winter storm warning. This includes Plymouth and Bristol countries. It is good to see the NWS snowfall map finally catch up to our earlier thinking this morning. Winter weather advisories have been expanded to now include the Cape/Islands, as we thought might happen in our earlier discussion. Similar numbers in the other winter weather advisory areas. With a track further south, the primary snow fall area is likely to be to the south of earlier NWS forecasts. While some mixing with sleet is likely over the Cape/Islands and the south coast, it would not take much for these areas to have more snow if the warmer air continues to be forecast further south……We will monitor this possibility……

More updates and analysis as info comes in. We will also begin further analysis tomorrow of the Sun night-Monday event
