Brewster Firefighters Respond to Brush Fire

On Tuesday April 24 at 12:57 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department was dispatched to a reported brush fire at Eldredge Farms on Eldredge Parkway.  While responding to the scene Brush 240 and Car 231 (Chief Moran) were notified by the Barnstable Fire Tower of an observed smoke condition from the location. Due to this report and simultaneous runs in Brewster the Harwich Fire Department was requested to respond to the location with an Engine and a Deputy Chief to assist with extinguishment. In addition, an off-duty Brewster firefighter responded to the scene with additional engine for water supply purposes.

On arrival Brewster units found a surface fire running along two large piles of wood chips and brush and immediately began fire suppression operations. Shortly after they were joined by the Harwich Engine and using their personnel and water supply were able to completely extinguish the burning piles.
