Brewster Fire Department Sponsors Successful Toys for Tots and Homeless for the Holidays Programs

Brewster Permanent Firefighters IAFF Local 3763 and the Brewster Fire/Rescue Association would like to thank all of our residents and visitors who contributed to our Toys for Tots, Homeless for the Holiday, and Operation Warmth campaigns. Your generosity along with the exceptional work of our members resulted in providing much needed support and assistance to numerous local families looking to fulfill the holiday wishes of children with our community and the surrounding areas. Through your generous donations the following contributions were made:

  • Over 850 toys donated to the U.S. Marines Stuff a Bus event and Lower Cape Outreach Council
  • Over 400 lbs. of non-perishable food donated to the food pantry at Our Lady of the Cape Church
  • 22 winter coats donated to the Brewster elementary schools
  • 55 winter coats donated to the Lower Cape Outreach Council for distribution to children in our region

The donation of winter coats was made possible through Operation Warmth which is a nationally sponsored I.A.F.F. program that provides low cost winter coats to Local I.A.F.F. unions. Funds generated during last year’s Homeless for the Holidays event were used to purchase the coats this year and it is the intention of the group to continue this tradition in future years.

We would like to thank the Brewster Police Association for partnering with us this year and the many local businesses, organizations, and individuals who provided support to our members during the Homeless for the Holidays event. These selfless individuals and businesses include Laurinos’s Tavern, Eat Cake for Breakfast, Barnstable County Incident Management Team, Brewster Dunkin’ Donuts, Our Lady of the Cape Church, Bryan Rylander, Dave Tubman and Jim Baskin of Brewster True Value.
