Brewster Firefighters Experience Busy Weekend

Over this past weekend Brewster firefighters responded to 56 emergency incidents. These “runs” comprised of several priority 1 medical responses, one of which resulted in the use of a Medflight helicopter to transport an 11 year old male fall victim to a Boston trauma center, a serious bike accident on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, numerous storm related flooding and service calls, a structure fire, a lightning strike to a home, several activated fire alarms, and a number of other standard fire and EMS related requests for service. In addition to these responses on Saturday the department assisted with providing EMS services at the Against The Tide Cancer awareness event in Nickerson State Park and the Fire Prevention Bureau conducted several random overcrowding checks at business within Town and also inspected several beach landings for illegal camp fires.

The Fire Department would like to thank the Brewster Department of Public Works and Water Department for their assistance with various flooding responses and the Orleans, Dennis, and Harwich Fire Departments for providing mutual aid support at several incidents throughout the weekend.
