Brewster Fire Department Homeless for the Holidays and Toys for Tots Collection a Huge Success

he Brewster Fire Department would like to thank our residents and visitors to the community for the tremendous support we received during our first “homeless for the Holidays” event which was held from December 7 through 11. During the program members of the department manned an encampment at the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street on a 24 hour basis for the entire four day period. Coupled with our Toys for Tots program the generous donations allowed us to collect over 1,000 toys, 600 pounds of non-perishable food, gift cards, and $1,800 in monetary donations that will assist individuals and families in need throughout the area and brighten the faces of numerous children during this Holiday season.

The department appreciates those that supported our efforts including the residents who donated to the cause and/or provided food to the firefighters during the four day period. In addition, we would also like to thank several area businesses who supported our members by providing daily food and refreshments including Ardeos Restaurant, Laurinos Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, and Eat Cake for Breakfast.
