Brewster Fire Department Conducts Cold Water Rescue Drill

On Saturday January 30, 2016 approximately 20 members of the Brewster Fire Department participated in a cold water rescue drill at Sheep’s Pond Landing. The program began with a classroom session that included a detailed review of the department’s ice/cold water rescue standard operating guidelines and equipment after which the group moved to Sheep’s Pond and conducted several hands-on rescue evolutions.

Ongoing training for these incidents is an extremely critical component of being fully prepared to provide our residents with the “All Hazards” type of response services they have come to expect from the Brewster Fire Department. It also highlights the diverse nature of the type of incidents our members may be requested to respond to and operate at on a daily basis. Our thanks to Carl Jacobs for providing drone based video and photos of the training.
