Brewster Fire Department Responds to Wellfleet Structure Fire

On Thursday January 21 at approximately 3:55 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department was requested to respond to Wellfleet to provide station coverage while Wellfleet, Eastham, Orleans, and Truro firefighters worked to contain a structure fire located at 25 Hazel Street. Upon arrival the first due officer (Eastham Fire Chief Kent Farrenkopf) found the exterior of a wood frame private residential structure involved in fire with extension into the interior of the home. As the fire units arrived to the non-hydranted area a water source using a tanker operation was established and attack lines were deployed to the exterior and interior of the building to extinguish the fire. The Incident Commander requested a working fire assignment for assistance bringing Brewster Car 231 (Chief Moran) and a Brewster engine and Heavy rescue to cover Wellfleet Headquarters. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes all units returned to Brewster at approximately 5:45 p.m.
