On Tuesday December 29 at 9:54 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car fire at the intersection of Slough Road and Old Red Top Road. Engine 239 under the direction of FF/Paramedic Kirk Rounseville responded and upon arrival found a motor vehicle that had crashed into a tree fully involved in fire. Luckily, the three occupants of the vehicle escaped serious injury by self-extricating from the wreck prior to the arrival of fire department units. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and upon arrival of additional Brewster personnel the three occupants were evaluated for possible injuries. All three refused transportation to the hospital. The crash remains under investigation by the Brewster Police Department.
