Brewster Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire in Harwich

On Saturday June 13th at 9:19 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department responded to 789 Depot Street in the Town of Harwich on a working fire assignment. On arrival, the Harwich Fire Department found heavy fire in the interior 1st floor and exterior rear side of the structure extending into the attic of the 1 story wood frame private dwelling. Harwich units immediately advanced two hoselines into the structure for extinguishment while other units ventilated the roof and conducted search and rescue and overhaul operations. Brewster Ladder 237 responded directly to the scene along with Car 231 (Chief Moran) and was assigned to assist with roof ventilation, laddering, and overhaul operations. The fire was placed under control in approximately 30 minutes. The Dennis and Chatham Fire Departments also responded directly to the scene with engine companies and Orleans and Brewster covered Harwich Headquarters. All Brewster units returned to service at 11:36 p.m.
