Brewster Fire Department Responds to Orleans Multiple Casualty Incident (MCI)

On Sunday May 24 at 4:40 p.m. Ambulance 242 and Ambulance 243 responded to a multiple casualty incident (MCI) on Beach Road in Orleans. On arrival at the incident the Orleans Fire Department discovered 6 pedestrians had been struck by a motor vehicle while walking along the edge of the road. A preliminary police investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, a 65 year old male from NY, had drifted over the white fog line striking the pedestrians.

Several of the victims sustained non-life threatening trauma related injuries in the accident. All were transported to Cape Cod Hospital. In addition to the Brewster ambulances additional units from Eastham and Harwich provided additional assistance at the scene.
