On Thursday September 18 at 5:16 pm the Brewster Fire Department responded to the Town of Eastham with Engine 233 to provide fire and EMS coverage for their community while the Fire Department battled a structure fire with several other mutual aid companies at 20 Great Pond Place. The fire, which originated in the kitchen area of the vacant summer vacation home, was quickly extinguished by responding firefighters and damage was limited to the 1st floor kitchen and roof area above. Later that night at 2:00 am a rekindle of the original fire occurred requiring an additional response of the Brewster Fire Department and other mutual aid companies to Eastham. During this request Engine 233 was assigned to respond to Great Pond to supply the tanker task force and Car 231 (Chief Moran) responded as the Water Supply Officer. In addition to these units, Ambulance 243 also responded to Eastham Fire Headquarters to provide EMS coverage for the Town. All Brewster apparatus were released and returned to service at 5:53 am.
