Brewster Fire Department Participates in Toys for Tots Stuff-A-Bus Contest

On Sunday December 15, 2013 The Brewster Fire Department participated in the 18th annual WXTK Toys for Tots Stuff-A-Bus event.  Through this event Cape Cod fire, police, and other public safety agencies collected a total of 11,132 toys that will be distributed to children and families on Cape Cod through the Toys for Tots Program. In addition to the contest to see what participating agency collects the most toys prior to the parade the Brewster Fire and Police Departments held their own town-wide collection contest. The final count for this friendly competition showed the Police Department as the winner with 132 toys collected compared to the 130 toys brought in by the Fire Department. With the bet of a dozen donuts on the line, today members of the Fire Department reluctantly presented a dozen powdered donuts and gift cards to a local dry cleaner to the Brewster Police Department in recognition of their hard work and success!

Even though the competition is over the Toys-for-Tots program is still collecting toys until the end of this week December 20. Any toys that are dropped off at the fire or police departments during the next week will be donated to the program.

The Brewster Fire and Police Departments wish to thank our community members and other individuals who donated toys for their generosity and support for this annual event!
