Brewster Fire Department Responds to Dennis Structure Fire

On Friday December 13, 2013 at 11:07 a.m. Car 231 (Chief Moran) and Heavy Rescue 241 responded to 17 Gages Way in Dennis on the working fire assignment. On arrival at the scene the Dennis Fire Department found a heavy fire condition in the rear of a two-story wood frame private residence. Fortunately the residents of the home self evacuated from building prior to the arrival of fire department units.

Dennis firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack on the fire and immediately requested mutual aid assistance to the scene. On arrival the Brewster Heavy Rescue company under the command of Captain/Paramedic Glen Cefalo was assigned as the Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC). Once the fire was extinguished the Brewster firefighters also assisted with salvage and overhaul operations while at the scene.

The Yarmouth Fire Department also provided mutual aid assistance at the scene and several other units covered the Dennis stations during the incident.
