Brewster Fire Department Responds to Orleans Structure Fire

On Friday December 13, at 8:24 a.m. Ladder 237, Car 231 (Chief Moran), and Car 232 (Deputy Chief Harrison) responded to 24 Ellis Road in Orleans on an automatic Line Box assignment for a reported structure fire. On arrival Orleans Deputy Chief Pike (Incident Commander) reported heavy smoke throughout a 30’ x 30’ two-story private dwelling and verified a fire in the basement of the structure. Upon stretching the initial attack line into the home Orleans firefighters found a small fire in the heating unit of the home which was quickly extinguished.

 On arrival Brewster Car 231 assisted the Incident Commander with managing the operation at the command post, Car 232 was assigned as the Operations Officer, and on arrival personnel from Ladder 237 assisted with overhaul and ventilation of the residence. An additional mutual aid engine company from the Eastham Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The home suffered heavy smoke soot damage throughout all floors.
