Brewster Fire Responds to Reported Structure Fire in Harwich

On Wednesday August 28 at 1:21 a.m. the Brewster Fire Department responded to 4 Monomy Road  in the Town of Harwich on a line box assignment for a reported structure fire. On arrival, the Harwich Fire Department found a heavy smoke condition in the basement of a large private residence. A lengthy investigation of the building revealed the smoke was due to an electrical problem within the basement area. Brewster Ladder 237 responded directly to the scene as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) along with Car 231 (Chief Moran). The Dennis Fire Department also responded directly to the scene with an engine company on the line box assignment. The Brewster and Dennis units were placed in staging until the source of the smoke was located. All Brewster apparatus returned to service at approximately 2:30 a.m.
