Brewster Fire Department Responds Motor Vehicle Collision

On Saturday August 3, 2013 at 1:57 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Main Street (Route 6A) in front of the Brewster Dunkin Donuts. Car 231 (Chief Moran), Car 232 (Deputy Chief Harrison) along with Ambulance 244 and Heavy Rescue 241 responded to the scene. On arrival the units found three vehicles in the roadway, one with heavy front end damage and a moderate size leak of fluids. Initial patient assessment revealed one priority two and one priority three level injuries with no entrapment.

Brewster personnel immediately initiated patient treatment as other firefighters assigned to Heavy Rescue 241 mitigated the fluid spill and secured the involved vehicles.  Due to multiple in progress calls in Brewster a mutual aid Ambulance from the Dennis Fire Department was requested to the scene to assist in transporting one of the patients to Cape Cod Hospital. All Brewster units were placed back in service at approximately 3:30 p.m.
