Brewster Fire Department Responds to Head-On Motor Vehicle Collision

On Sunday June 16, 2013 at 11:50 a.m. the Brewster Fire Department was dispatched to a head-on motor vehicle collision on Main Street (Route 6A) in front of the Brewster Dunkin Donuts. Car 232 (Deputy Chief Harrison) along with Ambulance 244 and Heavy Rescue 241 responded to the scene. On arrival the units found two vehicles in the middle of the road with heavy front end damage and a moderate size leak of fluids. Initial patient assessment revealed one priority two and two priority three injuries with no entrapment. Brewster personnel immediately initiated patient treatment protocols as other firefighters assigned to Heavy Rescue 241 mitigated the fluid spill and secured the involved vehicles.  Due to the number of injuries Brewster Ambulance 243 and a mutual aid Ambulance from the Dennis Fire Department were requested to the scene to assist in transporting the patients to Cape Cod Hospital. The accident is being investigated by the Brewster Police Department.
