On Saturday April 27 during a spectacular Brewster in Bloom festival weekend, the Brewster Fire Department hosted a community Open House for over 500 residents and visitors. This annual event is one of the principal instruments our organization utilizes to establish and support relationships within the community and showcase our equipment and operational readiness.
Some of the highlights of the day included interactive demonstrations on the use of firefighters personal protective gear, hands-on application of brush fire attack lines, extrication and technical rescue equipment demonstrations, fire station tours, distribution of fire safety education literature, fire and EMS equipment displays, and an impressive exhibition of the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Incident Support Unit (ISU) which serves as a mobile incident command post for emergency incidents throughout the State. Hot dogs, balloons, popcorn, and other refreshments were provided free of charge by the Brewster Fire/Rescue Association throughout the day.
Our organization would like to thank all of our residents and visitors who took the time to visit fire headquarters to learn more about the excellent services we offer, our equipment, and the personnel who provide high quality, professional services to the community.
