Brewster Fire Department Responds to Water Rescue

On Saturday June 1 at 3:56 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department was dispatched to a report of two children adrift in a kayak on Cape Cod Bay off of Paine’s Creek landing.  The caller reported the children were unable to return to shore and were drifting further out into the bay.  Brush/service vehicle 240, marine unit 247 (Boston Whaler), Car 230 and the rapid deployment zodiac boat responded to the landing under the command of Captain/Paramedic Anthony Dalmau. On arrival at the scene fire department personnel conducted a rapid assessment of the incident and initiated boat launch operations. During this initial assessment the incident commander confirmed that the children had safely returned to shore and were with family members.  Based on this information operations were terminated and all Brewster units returned to service at approximately 4:15 p.m.
